Next Generation Network

In order to accelerate the transition from outdated and expensive technologies to next generation networks and services, copper facilities are being retired.
Transition to next generation POPP VoIP service to avoid rate increases.

Copper facilities are going away:

  • Per FCC order 19-72A1 (August 2, 2019), telecommunications carriers are no longer required to update or maintain POTS lines (aka Plain Old Telephone Service) or make them available to consumers
  • Costs to offer POTS lines are steadily increasing, leading to price increases for clients

POTS Line Uses:

  • Voice
  • Fax
  • Security Alarm
  • Fire Alarm
  • Elevator
  • Point of Sale
  • Meter Reading
  • Modem
